Downtown Nashville is the heart of Music City USA---with over 30 live music venues offering country, jazz, blue grass, Irish and blues every night. Downtown is also home to five major performing arts organizations--- Nashville Symphony, Nashville Ballet, Nashville Opera, Nashville Repertory Theatre and Nashville Children's Theatre (one of the time magazines top five children's theaters in the United States).
With the completion of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in 2006, downtown Nashville will be home to seven venues with 10,455 seats.
Major downtown arts and culture venues include the First Center for the Visual Arts, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Gaylord Entertainment Center, Ryman Auditorium (winner of the Pollstar Theatre of the Year award in 2003 and 2004), Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Tennessee State Museum and the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame and museum.
Thousands of sports fans each year come downtown to see the Tennessee Titans (national Football League), the Nashville Predators (national Hockey League) and the Nashville Kats (arena football) play. The Music City Bowl game, NCAA basketball regional games and an SEC basketball tournament are other annual sporting highlights.
Tennessee Titans 
The NfL's Tennessee Titans hit the field each fall at the Nashville's 68,798 seat Coliseum. The Titans took the NFL by storm in 1999, capturing the 1999 AFC championship and advancing to the Super Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia. If football is your thing, these energy filled games are something you won't want to miss.
Nashville predators 
The NHL's Nashville Predators take the ice at the Gaylord Entertainment Center (GEC) from October to April. Don't miss out on one of the youngest and most exciting teams in hockey putting their “Fangs” into their “Foes”. Go see the Nashville Predators.
The Grand Ole Opry and Opryland Hotel 
People living in Nashville or people visiting would not be complete without visiting the spectacular Opryland Resort and the world famous 4,400 seat Grand Ole Opry. Get set for and unforgettable evening of non-stop entertainment as the worlds longest running radio show, the Opry showcases the best in county, bluegrass and more. Country Music Hall of Fame 
Spanning an entire city block, this must see venue features live performances, miles of memorabilia and Elvis' '61 Cadillac.
Nashville Zoo at Grassmere 
Feed your wild side with a trip to the Nashville Zoo. The zoo features over 350 animals including Bengal tigers, elephants, zebras and river otters. The zoo also features a jungle gym and petting zoo.
The Hermitage 
The restored Greek Revival home of President Andrew Jackson also features an original slave cabin, Jackson's tomb and family cemetery
